Brent’s best of breed for coastal operators
With wave upon wave of world class products across many genres of amusement games, Brent Sales is a tidal force to be reckoned with. And with a sales team steeped in experience of seaside sales, the company’s 2008 collection is going to take some beating.
Launched alongside the hugely popular Deal Or No Deal at January’s ATEI, Hollywood Reels is another redemption piece that’s set for a starring role. A movie-themed two player, multi-level coin roll-down game, Hollywood Reels has a series of impressive design features which engage with players of all ages. When a coin passes through the Fireworks Bonus target, gameplay shifts to skill-stop, whereby players use an illuminated push button in a bid to access the Jackpot Bonus. The movie camera coin-entry points are equipped with optical viewers, enabling children and disabled players to see the sloping play surface while electronic intelligence modifies reel speed depending on the win rate. Regional sales manager John Crompton commented: “Redemption has probably the widest range of styles of any amusements sector. Hollywood Reels encapsulates the best of the coin roll-down genre and we’re pleased to report that the game has been thoroughly tested and is producing exceptional income figures in a highly competitive environment.” Photo-booths deliver all-round family entertainment, with no environment more apt for recording a suitable souvenir than at the seaside, argues regional sales manager Geoff Spencer. A snapshot of Brent’s fun album reveals two of the best from renowned manufacturer Fantasy Entertainment, each with its own twist. Foto Cube captures four poses and outputs a ready-cut, self-adhesive edged template for customers to form their own cube. A range of selectable themes are available, with options allowing operators to incorporate bespoke marketing messages or that of their local resort. Portrait to Anywhere provides an opportunity to be photographed at one of over 20 world famous global landmarks, alongside a host of other holiday-style treatments and artistic options. Prize merchandising is having a growing influence at the coast, with skill-based games subsidising some of the declining AWP income. “Namco’s Clena-Flex is uniquely placed to offer maximum flexibility in this sector,” said Brent’s head of sales Mick Kennedy. “With limitless configurations of drop zones, spacious interior and a grab mechanism that’s both strong and highly dextrous, the range of prizes that can be dispensed by Clena-Flex range from small confectionery through bulky soft plush right up to high value games consoles and electronic gadgets.” As always, video games are a key strength in Brent’s amusements arsenal, with both Namco-Bandai and Raw Thrills games dominating income charts. Maximum Tune 3 (driving) and Time Crisis 4 (shooting) remain top of the tree long after their first appearance, the former boosted by the recent arrival of a Superdeluxe format. Raw Thrills’ Super Bikes has also benefited from the Superdeluxe treatment whilst Safari, the Africa-themed hunting game launched at ATEI, is rightly deserving of its ‘King of the Jungle’ title. Together with high-impact novelty games such as Crazy Typhoon and compelling compact sports such as Family Bowl 2, no seaside amusements spread would be complete without the inclusion of kiddie rides. The recent creation of a new Division, packed with all the very best from Amutec and Disney/Merkur and Universal Space, headed by Chris Bell, must surely be the crowning glory for parent company Namco Europe, as Brent Sales continues to go from strength to strength. |
