Open Day warm-up for Brent’' own show

Brent Sales is aiming to build on an ebullient opening to 2008, arriving at Park Avenue with a strong selection of products from its 'best of breed' range. Head of UK sales Mick Kennedy, Kiddie Rides Division general manager Chris Bell and product manager John Brennan will be supported by Brent Electronic at the first of a series of customer-facing events to mark the start of the summer season.

"Park Avenue is an event that we always look forward to," explained Mick Kennedy. "It heralds the opening of the summer season and provides the industry with a perfect opportunity to get together in a friendly but commercial environment."

The open day will play host to at least two official product launches from Brent, Barber Cut and Baby Balamory, with two further models on display representing a cross-section of genre-leading pieces in the shape of Safari and Pirates of the Caribbean – The Black Pearl.

Skill-based prize merchandiser Barber Cut, unveiled in pre-production format at January's ATEI, has passed through an extensive and thorough evaluation cycle with 'exceedingly good results' across a range of prize levels at both inland and coastal sites. The two-player SWP vendor is an imaginative take on a traditional game and appeals to a male and female demographic alike. Players to use their nerve and guile to cut down prizes hung in the game's brightly coloured playfield. Merchandise can be placed across three different prize levels to create a real 'cutting edge' challenge.

Licensed from the hugely successful Cbeebies television series, Baby Balamory is the first new Amutec kiddie ride release since the brand was acquired by Brent's parent company Namco Europe earlier in the year. A two-seat rocking replica of Edie McCredie's famous yellow bus, Chris Bell is confident that the show’s popularity amongst pre-school children and toddlers will make this new ride an instant hit throughout Britain.

Designed to appeal to a slightly older audience, Pirates of the Caribbean – The Black Pearl is another licensed ride (Disney) which has sold extremely well since debuting in January where it served as the company's flagship model in the all-new Kiddie Rides Division.

Raw Thrills' animal hunter, Safari is one of Brent's high profile video trophies with UK orders and cashbox reflecting similar successes recorded in key global markets including the USA, Australia and continental Europe.

A week after Brent's Open Day outing, Mick Kennedy, John Crompton and Geoff Spencer will be taking their own show on the road with a nationwide truck-stop tour taking in coastal towns and cities across Britain over a two-month period.
