Razing Storm fires up video calibre

From the same team that developed the redoubtable Time Crisis series comes Razing Storm, Bandai Namco Games' latest two-player, fully immersive video shooter now shipping across Europe.

Razing Storm's futuristic gameplay pits players as members of Special Forces unit 'Strategic Combat and Rescue' (SCAR) with combatants fighting their way through South America in the year 2030. The software uses Artificial Intelligence to control enemy reactions so that their responses are directly related to player actions rather than pre-set patterns, making each play experience unique. Adding further realism, players can mete out damage to the entire on-screen environment, including buildings, windows, furniture, appliances and trees, etc.

Bio-feedback machine gun controllers emulate a series of weapons, including cluster shot and rocket launcher, with reverberations accompanying every blast, whilst ducking, hiding and reloading is accomplished via the familiar pedal interface.

Sound is blasted through a 5.1 channel DTS digital system, splitting gunfire, voice commands, background music, sound effects and bass across different speakers, and an imposing 60-inch monitor delivers cutting-edge visuals created by BNG's System 357 graphics.
