Powerboat racing makes a big splash
Namco Europe/Brent Sales has launched what videogame aficionados are describing as 'the innovation of the year' with the release of Raw Thrills' hi-tech powerboat racing game H2Overdrive.
Unveiled to a global audience in prototype format at January's ATEI, the production model has been vastly up rated with the integration of a 42-inch high resolution LCD flatscreen panel, giving a further boost to the game's stunning next-generation graphics. Early site testing revealed H2Overdrive as the top performing videogame at three separate locations. H2Overdrive benefits from advanced videogame technology and a host of mechatronic, acoustic and electronic special effects such as force-feedback steering, resistive throttle and a powerful seat subwoofer - all designed to deliver the most immersive gameplaying experience. Players select from nine high powered speedboats to navigate their way through seven water courses including canyon rapids, jungle swamps and flooded city streets, with stretches posing a raft of obstacles, jumps and secret pathways to explore, whilst boosters and super boosters may be picked up along the way to enhance a boat's performance. H2Overdrive is linkable up to eight cabinets, offering competitors a chance to race head-to-head, while Raw Thrills' PIN entry system also allows players to store their profile and accomplishments, promoting repeat play and the opportunity for challengers to battle the elements and course leaders. |
